NovaStar Education serves the Los Angeles community as after-school enrichment program offering a diverse set of programs including Theater, Basketball, Gardening, LEGO Robotics.
In 2022, as the Assistant Co-Lead teacher, I was tasked with developing lesson plans and visual materials that students (and parents) could utilize and learn from outside of the classroom.
While designing, there were two goals in mind: Maintain visual cohesiveness across all program materials, and practicality of design in both print and digital format.
With a tight budget for supplemental materials, printed materials had to remain relatively spartan in detail and color. Yet we wanted the designs to be eye-catching when viewed digitally. This led to a design choice of a minimal color pallet based on the company logo, with varying tints of the original colors.
